Bravest of the Brave

50 riders took part in the first edition of Bravest of the Brave on a route that visited sites associated with the United Irish rebellions of 1798 to 1803, with a special homage to patriot and heroine, Anne Devlin. Starting in Rathdrum, the route took riders over the Wicklow Gap to Hollywood before turning south to Hacketstown. At this point, the riders on the 100km route turned left to head back to Rathdrum while the hardier souls doing the 200km continued south to Vinegar Hill. From there, the return trip took in Oulart, Carnew, Tinahely and Aughrim.

It was a wonderful day out with a beautiful route, ideal weather and much needed sustenance provided along the way by a dedicated group of volunteers. One to add to your cycling plans for 2025!
