Paul Healion (South Dublin), setting record

Talk about the calm before the storm. We got lucky on Saturday with a measure of calm weather before the gales and rain of the afternoon. Many of the riders took advantage to put in great performances, recording fast times or PB’s. First home was Paul Healion in a new course record time of 20.16, followed by Colm Cassidy and Anthony Walsh, both of whom broke 21 minutes. First veteran was Cathal Millar in 22.02, pipping Sorrento’s Mark Prendergast by 11 seconds. The ladies prize went to Eithne Dalby with 26.45. Enda Ryan took the U-16 category in 25.18 and Fintan Ryan the U-14 in 31.45.

Well done to the Sorrento riders who set PB’s on the day…Mark Prendergast, Enda Ryan, John O’Sullivan (Audax), Eileen O’Sullivan and Fintan Ryan.
