This is the edited version and only covers the later stages ( The fact that I was in bed and didn't get on the road until 11:30 has nothing to do with it ) So.....climbing out of Balinaclash heading for Aughrim on my solitary pursuit, the 10:00 AM Sorrento express was on it's return journey...a quick about face and chase back I hitched on just in time to start the climb back up to Rathdrum ( roll call : Aidan, Enda, Stephen, Paddy, Frank, Dave, Conal jnr and snr..Andy had left earlier) up and onto the Glenealy road we re-grouped ......left in Glenealy , Aidan assesed the situation and something was afoot!!..we split up and I opened my tube of super glue and applied liberally to Dave's wheel. Through the cullenmore bends, a touch of wheels and reflexes were tested, all passed...just!! ...and the thought that I could be in Aughrim having coffee and doughnuts did cross my mind

Paddy and Frank turned off at coynes cross, at least I think they did I was so far forward on my saddle they were out of my peripheral vision ....and then some!

......Dual-carraige way ...through Newtown...whooossshh..." Hi Geraldine!! "....back on to dual-er .... I bailed down Farrenkelly.....leaving Dave and Conal ride off into the sunset.

Through Kilcoole for me......."oh! the copper kettle is open."......now about those doughnuts!!...mmmmm
