Thanks for the AA roundwood watch report Paul.
I can confirm all the above, with snowploughs as an additional obstacle on the Luggala road to nowhere!!!
I had even planned for the bonk by bringing extra Christmas cake with chunky icing.

Hi Ian,
Sorry you did not get a text . My No. is 085-1308089 Please text me your phone No. and I will add you to the list. We would have posted it in the forum but as you know it was not responding on Saturday due to a slice of lemon jamming the quark-drive, the lemon has since been removed by Keith . We cancelled the tour as well as the Gardai asked for no unnecessary journeys to take place. Conditions Today :The Calary road is good but all the minor roads around Roundwood have either ice or snow on them. Ballinastoe Woods is ok , you can cycle up as far as Luggala. The Luggala climb is also OK up to the top but the road to Sally Gap has a minimum of 30 cm of snow and there are abandoned jeeps stuck at the top of Luggala. Glencree is also very dodgy with abandoned jeeps on the road to Crone Wood ( that have been broken-into). The old coach road has compacted snow and gives good grip on Mtb tyres but nearer Ballinastoe it has large patches of ice. No tour will take place next Saturday, if road conditions deteriorate further. Maybe we will organise a snow MTB Tour instead
